Mold Remediation

Mold develops where there is excess water and moisture.

The most effective way to protect your family and property from the threat of mold is to have it dried immediately by professionals.

The efforts of well-meaning homeowners can often exacerbate mold growth. Bleach removes topical growth but doesn’t address the underlying moisture problem. Using UV light or high-heat drying has only temporary benefits and can be harmful to people, pets, wood, plastics, and plants.

Raus Restoration works with environmental hygienists and laboratories to accurately diagnose the damage and protect families from potentially dangerous mold situations. Using state-of-the-science technology, our mold remediation experts first identify the moisture source and extent of the problem, and then work to rescue and restore the area to healthy conditions.

We offer the following mold remediation services:

• Professional Drying with the State of the Art Equipment
• Full Mold Remediation
• Professional Deodorization
• Cleaning & Sanitation of Structure, Contents & Fixtures
• Containment and Removal in Affected Area

Raus Restoration will provide a complete estimate, including photos, to your insurance agent or adjuster within 24-48 hours.

Mold As a Health Risk

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises adverse human health reactions to mold exposure can include:
• Nasal stuffiness
• Eye irritation
• Wheezing
• Skin irritation
• Fever
• Shortness of breath
• Some people with chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may develop mold infections in their lungs.

In 2004 the Institute of Medicine (IOM) found there was sufficient evidence to link indoor exposure to mold with upper respiratory tract symptoms, cough, and wheeze in otherwise healthy people; with asthma symptoms in people with asthma; and with hypersensitivity pneumonitis in individuals susceptible to that immune-mediated condition.

The IOM also found limited or suggestive evidence linking indoor mold exposure and respiratory illness in otherwise healthy children. Mold can sometimes get the best of us and become well established before it is even discovered in places we seldom or never see.
