On July 15th 2015, an unknown person or persons kicked in the back door of the Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church’s multi-purpose building and threw in an accelerant assumed to be gasoline. The Church is a longtime client of Raus Construction that built the original building 14 years before.
Raus Restoration committed to restoring the damaged building and bringing it back to how it looked 14 years ago. The goal was to restore the church to its original just built state. On July 15th, before the fire was 24hrs old Raus took possession of the work site. The first order of business on any restoration is always safety. Boxes upon boxes were stacked against an entry wall containing dust masks, rubber gloves, Tyvek suits, goggles, towels, soaps, assorted sanitation and medical supplies. It would have been a daunting task for any company to completely restore a building that has the square footage of 2 full sized supermarkets not to mention the 35ft. walls. Raus Restoration completed the job in just 60 days from walk in to walk out.
